Terms & Conditions

Clients are required to provide adequate contact details. This will enable me to communicate with you effectively. At the first session, I will ask you to provide me with your postal address, e-mail, landline and mobile numbers. I will only use these to contact you with regard to tuition and I never pass them on to someone else unless you request for me to do so. Please ensure that you inform me if any contact details change during the academic year. Please contact me for a registration form.

Payment is received after the end of each lesson. I accept payment by cash or cheque.  Discounts are offered for block bookings, please get in touch for further information.

Termination Policy
If you wish to terminate your regular tuition sessions, then I require 2 weeks notice prior to the end of the term/half-term. This must be given in person face-to-face, or by telephone conversation. This enables you to be sure that I have received notice. Failure to give the required notice will result in your being charged for the next lesson after termination. I like to be able to say ‘goodbye’ to my students properly and wish them well for the future. Sufficient notice also enables me to offer a regular session to a new student.

In the case of students taking GCSEs or KS2 SATs you will only be expected to attend up to the date of the first exam (unless you wish to continue until the last exam). Parents of children taking SATs will need to inform me if they wish to continue afterwards, or finish when the tests take place, prior to the half-term in which they are taken.

Time Keeping
Unless otherwise arranged, all one-to-one lessons are 55 minutes in duration. Clients are responsible for arriving for tuition on time, and lessons will end at the designated time to enable the next student to have their full lesson. If you wish to speak to me about your child’s progress, then please do this during the first few minutes or the last few minutes of their lesson.

Student progress feedback
If your child has face-to-face tuition, I regularly give feedback to the parent at the end of the lesson. For those having online lessons, I provide a short e-mail to state the topics covered and how well the student responded to the work, after each lesson. If you require a written report please see the Special Requests section below.

Special Requests
I reserve the right to charge for special requests. Examples include:-
– the completion of forms/questionnaires for educational psychologists/other medical or education professionals.
– a written report regarding student progress (remember verbal or e-mail feedback, for online students, after each lesson in included in your tuition fee).
– countersigning passport applications
– setting of homework during the summer holidays if you have not booked a course of lessons during this period.

Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children know how to behave well. I reserve the right to cancel any bookings for students whose behaviour is unacceptable. You will, of course, receive a refund for outstanding sessions if I need to enforce this.
